Production Process

Lavello hand-crafted sinks lead the market in structure and technology. The square design is functional and contemporary and features corner radii and installation lip angles which are optimised for easy cleaning and installation.

A double coat, including nanotechnology, makes them UV resistant and gives them a high-quality strength unlike anything else on the market. Additional built-in sound buffering means dropped cutlery hardly make a sound. The unique finish colour options are not affected by years of sunlight.

Before production, all material is tested and inspected to ensure the utmost quality is maintained. The sink is cut with a laser cutting machine, and is then put through a CNC Bending Machine to reduce errors and ensure the sink size is consistent.

Sinks are then welded using nitrogen equipment to reduce damage, manual spot welding is conducted as well as machine laser welding, to press the sink corners and ensure they are flat.

A polishing machine is used to ensure the edges of the sinks are smoothed. The sinks are then put through a surface polish treatment machine which conducts a double polish of the edges.

After quality checks have been performed, the sound pad is stuck on and sound dampening paint is applied to the exterior of the sink.

The sinks are then baked before the nanotechnology coat is applied and cleaned according to a strict feeding and cleaning line. This ensures oil, dirt and surface impurities are removed through an ultrasonic wave.

After they are cleaned, the sinks are coated with a PVD coating in three luxurious finishes: tiger bronze gold, nickel or gunmetal.

Meir has chosen to use PVD as the finishing method due to its strength characteristics, versatility when colouring, durability and environmental footprint.

Physical Vapor Deposition (or PVD) is an advanced surface treatment technology which uses gas discharge to partially ionize the gas or evaporated substance under vacuum conditioning. The benefits of this technology are strong film adhesion and durability. All sinks are tested to ensure the colour will withstand basic air and direct sunlight and maintain its brightness.

The PVD process is not only longer-lasting than alternatives but is also more environmentally friendly than electroplating and painting, as there is no chemical gas or water waste released in the colouring process.
